Richard
Poage, MBA,
created Thriving Audiology in 2004 to help Audiologists and their
teams create a professional environment for themselves where they
can Thrive, not just survive.
As a business
coach Rick has dedicated the rest of his professional life to
helping talented professionals understand the business, professional
relationship, and organizational issues, required for professional
success. He does this with workshops, seminars, and individual
professional coaching.
The first time
you performed a hearing evaluation someone spent time prior to the
evaluation explaining the theory’s you would be using and then
talked you through how to perform the evaluation. Then afterward
gave you feedback on your performance. Business and organization
skills are best learned in the same way, unfortunately many
Audiologists have never had anyone with a business background
actually explain to them how to best proceed with business
decisions. Or explain to them why things they do work, or don’t
work.
Rick has been
blessed with a wealth of experience in his 25+ years of working in
professional service organizations. In addition to owning his own
businesses he has worked with Physicians, Attorneys, Engineers,
Audiologists, and other health care providers. He has worked with
publicly traded companies and one person businesses. In each case
was able to experience, see and understand, what caused organizations to thrive,
or just survive.
Rick graduated
from Oregon State University in 1980 with degrees in Business and
Horticulture. After selling a Florist and Nursery he started
Rick returned to school and

behavior and design.

8 and Nicholas age
