Audiology News Collection

Web Surfing Suggestions: Skip the daily paper.  The paper's sections structured your news, now you can structure your own.  Suggested sections below:

Suggested Daily News Sites for Audiology Business Owners: figure 5-15 minutes a day.

www.cnn.com office and patient chit chat news, scores, and general gossip news.

www.weatherunderground.com check of the weather and forecast, for chit chat and to make sure you are prepared.

www.audiology.org for a quick check of any national Audiology or Legislative News for Audiologists.

www.audiologyblog.com for a daily business thought to improve your business and organizational I.Q.

Local news: I find a quick look at my local paper and one local TV station's home pages gives me local chit chat.

www.forbes.com for real national business and political news.  This is a place to take a moment and actually read something each day.  Not as much fun as ESPN.com for sports fans, but worth a couple of minutes to learn what is really going on.

Throughout the day:

Keep your e-mail open and available.

www.facebook.com Keep your Facebook page open and available to stay connected with your support team, other Audiologists, and people of interest.   At least once a day have someone check your business Facebook Page and your Web Site to make sure they are operating as expected.  Perhaps give one of your employees post capability to your business Facebook site so they post updates each day as directed.

Weekly:  Sort of like your Sunday paper.

Check the web site of the companies you do business with.  Phonak, Oticon, Starkey, whomever since your patients will be checking them it is worthwhile for you to know generally what is there.  If you are fitting Oticon and their web page states something your patients find significant you want to be telling them, not them surprising you.

Check the web site and perhaps Facebook pages of your competitors or others of interest.   Even if you aren't a Fan, you can enter in their information and find out what they are telling people.

http://www.asha.org/advocacy/ as a place to get a feel for national legislative issues that will impact you.

http://www.audiologyonline.com/ as a place for some general news and information.  I am often surprised at how many patients and dispensers find this site.

www. whomever your competitors are web sites.  It is worth checking our your major competitors web sites to see what they are doing.  It will give you ideas!

Obviously you will modify this to your individual needs, but the above will give you a start to organizing your daily news collection efforts.
