The Independent Business Coach
If you are going to be an
Independent professional or business owner you need to have an Independent
Business Advisor. This doesn't mean you don't take advantage of the "FREE"
advice offered by your suppliers. A lot of it is very useful to you.
In your heart you know there is no
free lunch in the business world. If there is no obvious charge to you
then there is a reason it is free. It is always worthwhile asking yourself
what the head of the company offering free advice is telling his investors about
why he is offering it? Is it happing for you; or to you? When they
suggest a call to action is it your profits or their profits they want you to
sacrifice?
If your business looks more like a
commissioned sales point for your supplier then you are not really independent.
Want a Secret Weapon?
Now you can have one.
Slash decision making time.
Overcome competitors.
Gain a Laser focus.
Plot a clear trail.
Empower your team.
Win.
Theory of
Constraints
What is your constraint to being
as successful as you want to be?
Is your support team propelling
you? Or are you towing them along?
Are your finances helping you fund
your purpose? Or are you unsure?
Is your communication noble and
clearly understood? Or does it seem a lot like the person down the street?
Are you achieving your Purpose?
Or are you running on your wheel hoping for the best?
Are you really enjoying your
professional journey?

If you ever feel like a hamster running on
it's wheel (lots of activity without progress) then you aren't alone.
It is often said failing to plan is planning to
fail. I don't agree. Failing to plan just makes your destination
random. Running a business without a plan is like taking a trip without a
destination or a map to get there. Sure you may end up somewhere
desirable, but who knows?
You are going to work hard anyway, so you may
as well go somewhere you want to go and enjoy the journey.
Planning isn't as hard as you have been taught.
We skip the SBA type business plan that ends up on the shelf and use a working
document. Like you would use a map on a vacation.
A useful plan changes wishful thinking about
what might be to a destination you can achieve and it enables you to enjoy the
journey.
The hamster in the cage has lots of activity
without progress. A plan frees you from the cage and gets you out where
activity results in progress.
